I worked for Salen Reefers as 3rd, then 2nd Mate until the company folded, then joined Fred Olsen, followed by Jebsens as 2nd Mate on bulk carriers.

I joined Red Funnel Ferries as chief officer/relief masteron their ro-ro ferries.
In 1977 I transferred to their fast passenger service commanding their passenger hydrofoils.

I joined Wimpey Marine as second mate, then mate on their Anchor handling supply vessels

I joined Stirling Shipping, who
operated platform supply vessels in the

Transferred to diving support vessel, Sea Mussel, working for British Gas, Arco & Conoco |

Transferred to the newly-acquired Morecambe Diver which was going on long term charter to British Gas in Morecambe Bay |

Returned to Sea Mussel. She was acting
as support vessel for a seismic survey project for Saipem in the Northern
Adriatic, the charterers being Prakla Seismos.

1994-1997 |
Worked for Sea Services, Malta as a
master of a platform supply vessel on charter to British Gas in Tunisia.

1997-1999 |
I was master of Sea Serv 503 supporting the Zaafarana Oilfield in the Gulf of Suez.The ship's duties included fire-fighting and pollution control. The ship was fitted with a pusher bow and was used to berth and unberth tankers alongside an offshore FPSO. |

1999-2000 |
Sailed as master on AHTS vessels supporting the jackup rig Trident 19 off the coast of Iran. |

2001 2002 2003 2004 |
2001 started with a brief job as
barge captain on a jackup drilling rig off
=============================`==================================================================== This was followed by some towage in the Mediterranean.
================================================================================================== After upgrading my certificate to STCW 95, I completed the summer season on "Princess Duda", a German coaster that has been converted to a yacht & used mainly for expedition diving.
================================================================================================== I finished 2001 as master of an ROV mother ship on the Blue Stream Project, laying a gas pipeline across the Black Sea.
=================================================================================================== 2002 started with a short job in the Persian Gulf as relief captain on a crew boat.
=================================================================================================== I spent most of September skippering Alevok - a 26 metre Turkish gulet on charter work in & around Malta, and helping to organise a re-enactment of Operation Pedestal (The Santa Marija Convoy) in Grand Harbour. This was the convoy that saved Malta during the war.

Sea Services in the Red Sea,
This was followed by local charter work around Malta/Sicily =================================================================================================== 2004.

Update for 2008 This year I am concentrating more on the yacht
business – guardiennage, delivery, boat salvage, diving services and
charter work.
